Because One Always Looks Neat...

Definitely one of the more disturbing websites I've ever seen. (And I've seen some pretty weird stuff.)

What absolutely fascinates me is how this guy managed to persuade his friends to go along with this–as far as I can tell, these look pretty authentic and not Photoshopped. (At least I assume these are close friends in the pictures. I can't imagine anyone else being willing to do something like this, unless there were massive gambling debts involved or something.)

There are many different ways to persuade people to do stuff, and some folks are just naturally better at it than others. Long-time fans of Apple products have probably heard about Steve Jobs' legendary RDF. I've even heard of people trying to use all sorts of Jedi Mind Tricks to persuade others to do things; when I was in seventh grade, a classmate (who subsequently became one of my best friends) actually managed to convince an appreciable portion of our class that I had suffered some sort of freak dental injury and was in the process of getting false teeth. (Let the record show that he and I are still friends, and that despite being an ostensibly mature adult, he currently maintains an impressive and ever-expanding collection of Star Wars action figures.) I'm guessing the esteemed proprietor of the website mentioned above must have similarly well-developed powers of persuasion.
